As in previous years, participants competed in the speed categories Penguin and Seal (wetsuit), as well as the endurance category Yoda.

As in previous years, only the supervising Tutzing water rescue service wore full wetsuits, but some strategists slipped into neoprene socks or gloves to go trophy hunting in the under-represented category.

The winners were Andreas Harting in the Penguin category, Tim Stracke (wearing neoprene gloves) in the Seal category, and André Garcia in the Yoda category.

Another winner was HateAid, as we donated €100 to HateAid for every swimmer; additionally, numerous swimmers topped up the donation, resulting in a total of over €2,000.

In his category, Andreas Harting managed to pull ahead of Gregor Abt (last year’s winner), Matthias Aigner, Felix Hummel, Chris Furtner, Camilla Garcia, Till A. Kaestner, Eric Hall, and Joachim “Jochen” Rabe.

Tim Stracke surprised Katrin Eckhold and Eva Goeb-Cribb, who each wore a neoprene sock and thought they had the field to themselves.

In the Yoda category, for safety reasons, a final swim-off took place after 10 minutes between André Garcia, Jochen Eckhold, and Dwight Cribb. Official finish time: 10:20 minutes.

Many thanks to all swimmers and supporters; it was refreshing to see you all.
